Hedonism is prohibited as is Epicureanism. If it were a real school of philosophy - as they claim - they should study "ALL" the philosophers (including existentialists and anarchists) and not only those who are convenient for the “brainwashing”. After a period of indoctrination where you are taught to despise the world, materialism and everything "non-Acropolitan"; the "volunteering" begins, where you have to do all kinds of arduous tasks (unpaid of course) for "the ideal". These tasks range from cleaning chores, accounting, going out to the streets posting flyers or selling magazines and increasingly become more demanding in terms of dedication to the "school". One of JAL's phrases was: "…friends, children, family and work must be considered weaknesses to live with and to overcome". The problem is that if one is convinced and truly believes in what they teach you, you adhere more and more to the group until you become trapped. Obviously not everything is bad in a sect, since very special bonds are created with the other sect members; it's like a club based on violence and authority. But that said, the objective of New Acropolis is not philosophy as they claim, but to expand and grow, to have more members. JAL used to say "tell me with members" and this was evident in the "councils", which are weekly meetings of the Command with the secretaries (middle commanders), in which there was a real anguish to recruit people, whether adults, teenagers or children. They also tell you how to speak, how to move and how to dress. JAL was extremely irritated by jeans, especially those that have any tear and women are prohibited from wearing pants.
